Atoll Set

Charles Darwin's account describes how an atoll forms. A volcanic island sinks slowly beneath the sea. Coral around it keeps building upward, staying level with the surface. The volcano disappears. The reef and its islets remain, and a lagoon takes the place of the volcano.

• Two necklaces: a pearl choker and a longer pendant chain
• Choker: continuous strand of small round white pearls, snug at the base of the neck
• Pendant chain: fine gold-tone beaded chain with turquoise-blue station beads
• Pendant: oval gold-tone bezel around a pearly white ground, ringed in clear pavé stones, wide gold-tone tube bail
• Center stone: oval cabochon cut, turquoise-blue with dark veining
